Starward Nova – Review

The Legend

Self-dubbed “Whisky for a curious, food-obsessed generation”, New World Whisky Distillery’s Starward includes a lineup of whiskies made with Australian malted barley and aged in Australian wine barrels for “3 ‘Melbourne Years’”. Legend has it, Melbourne’s climate lends itself well to helping the whisky interact more rapidly with the barrels, more so than Scotland’s climate. While that’s a debatable statement, whatever the climate is doing, it’s doing it well. The whisky produced does not disappoint. The usage of carefully selected Australian wine barrels for aging embeds fruity and juicy flavors into the whiskies making them easy sip before, during and after dinner.
